Love and Lectures by Jerone

Hi, it’s me again! Yes, as promised, this is the long-awaited post about love and lectures! I am sorry that I am putting this post up so late as it was not as easy to write this time round due to the challenging issues being discussed.
Love is all around
I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows...
If you find the paragraph above familiar, don’t be surprised! This was part of the song that I had sung during the first tutorial period for EMI. Now, before I officially start talking about love and lectures, I would like to thank and apologise to everyone regarding certain issues. (By the way, this is not a paradox! Haha… =))
Firstly, I would like to thank the class for their encouragement after viewing my first blog post here. I promise that I will continue to write posts that will be interesting and of course, involving the whole class! Secondly, I am so sorry for not including softball, netball, western dance, track and field and archery (I heard that the last group is going to compete in the coming school holidays! Here's wishing them good luck!) in the list of CCAs that I last sent my well-wishes to. Once again, for those who have done well, you have done a good job! For others who have unfortunately not been able to make it, I believe that you have done your best and this is the most important thing. Do not be too upset about the loss and treat the competition as an important experience instead. Success is achieved by learning from failure, so we should pick ourselves from where we have fallen in order to overcome future challenges in our lives. Thirdly, I would like to apologise for being so blur last week and causing a lot of unnecessary trouble. I have a lot of nightmares recently and this has inevitably led to me being distracted. (Luckily, I dreamt about Doraemon on Sunday night! :))
Love is a peculiar thing.
Sometimes, it can really change a person, just like what I have observed with a friend of mine. He has recently been having a close relationship with a girl of his dreams and he has become more mature. He is more down-to-earth (though not absolutely) now and has become more positive in his outlook towards life. One does not have to interact with him for very long to realise this – there’s a particular aura of happiness which can be felt almost instantaneously.
I met my first love when I was in primary school. At that time, I was really quite shy at that age (and some people say that I still am) and did not really dare to tell her that I liked her. She was not extremely gorgeous but somehow she managed to captivate my heart. I remembered those days when I would just stand at a corner, watching her from afar. No actual interaction might have existed between us but I would be contented just to be able to observe her doing her homework, talking to her friends. Hence, it was little wonder that I could be happy for an entire day if she had just smiled at me, even if it were only for a second. Then, something terrible (which I shall not talk about) happened on one day. I was initially quite upset about what had happened and cried. It was not a particularly wonderful experience for me but I learnt that it is sometimes necessary to let go of something instead of clinging onto it for dear life, especially when you can’t really get it back. To all those who has not had a pleasant relationship with others, do learn to pick yourself up. Do stay strong and move on with your life. It may seem to be an uphill task but it is absolutely necessary to accomplish it. Remember that there is a whole forest out there waiting for you to explore, so don’t be upset when you find that one flower does not really suit you. It also does not mean that you had been wasting time on your past relationship though – it has been found that everybody who has been through a relationship (whether it is successful or not) will emerge out of it as someone knowing how to care for others better.
Now, let me talk about lectures. Here's an interesting analogy (though it may not be perfect) that I recently thought of to describe a lecture. A lecture is like a buffet where everyone goes to and tries to obtain the maximum amount of benefit possible. Sometimes, the place can be really noisy with many people discussing about something at a time. More importantly, not everyone is exactly suitable for eating at a buffet (or attending a lecture). Some may possibly suffer from indigestion if they are not careful in controlling how much they eat just like how some may not be able to stay engaged for some lectures. If we relate this to the lessons conducted within small classrooms that most of us had in our secondary schools, then we may find those sessions more conducive as the information delivered is 'bite-sized' so that it can be more easily 'digested'.
If you have been reading this post until this far, do give yourself a pat on the back! Thanks for being so patient and manage to persist reading this post. Now, let me take a break while I consider what I should write for the next post…… Bye!
P.S. Do look out for my stories about love (which I hope will be published) in the Lit Wing (my CCA) publication next year!

Hello everyone! Yes, it’s me - Jerone!
I have decided to contribute to this blog so that it will remain active and what I write here will become part of the cherished memory of 08S05 in time to come! Haha… =)
Here, I will blog about things that I have always wanted to say to the class but have not found the chance to because either my skin is not thick enough or I may say something wrong verbally. =)
SPA is finally over! Let us try to cool down and prepare for the Common Test after the June holidays! Though the tests are just barely two months away, I believe that we as a class will do well!
There have been quite a lot of competitions that have just recently ended or are still ongoing. Congratulations to Indian Dance for winning gold with honours! For those in soccer, table tennis and hockey, I feel that as long as you have tried your best, you are already considered successful. Finally, to those in choir and floorball, do work hard in your upcoming competitions! Here’s wishing you all the best for the next few days of competition! (If I have missed out any CCAs, do feel free to let me know and I will include them in my next blog post!)
The recent Influenza A virus (previously known as swine flu or H1N1) may be scary but I believe that we will tide through this difficult period soon. Do adopt hygienic practices and most importantly, remain optimistic so that you will have enough resistance to fight against the virus!
Speaking of being optimistic, here’s a song that I would like to recommend to the class: Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life! Do continue to stay happy and maybe have a resolution to smile perhaps at least 5 times a day (I just included that in my list of New Year resolutions!). =) =)
Here are the lyrics of the song (I hope that they are correct):
Some things in life are bad,They can really make you mad,Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristleDon't grumble, give a whistle. And this'll help things turn out for the best.And....Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle)Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle)If life seems jolly rotten, There's something you've forgotten,And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. When you're feeling in the dumps,Don't be silly chumps.Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing.And...Always look on the bright side of life. (whistle)Come on...Always look on the bright side of life...For life is quite absurd,And death's the final word,You must always face the curtain with a bow.Forget about your sin, Give the audience a grin,Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow. So always look on the bright side of death,Just before you draw your terminal breath,-----(Censored)----When you look at it,Life's a laugh and death's a joke,it's true. You'll see it's all a show,Keep 'em laughing as you go.Just remember that the last laugh is on you.And always look on the bright side of life,Always look on the right side of life,Come on guys, cheer up.Always look on the bright side of life.Worse things happen at sea, you know.Always look on the bright side of life.Always look on the bright side of life...Always look on the right side of life...
Finally, I have to say that I have read some of your blogs and I have to acknowledge that I like Ting Soon's use of song lyrics in his blog posts! (Now you can see that I am trying to be a copycat here... =))
Do continue to visit this blog for regular updates! I will be going to talk about love and lectures in my next post!
